Posted - Jul 05 2021 : 10:26:01 AM Judith,, never heard of Egyptian mint... sounds intriging..
I love the scent of my strawberry mint, I have it planted next to a Geranium plant with a chocolate mint on the other side.. Sort of like having a fresh chocolate covered strawberry lol!.
I think I will try to dig them both up in the Fall, to pot and bring into the house for the Winter... fingers & eyes crossed I can save them for the following Spring.

Posted - Jul 04 2021 : 11:03:54 PM I never saw strawberry mint before; must look for it when I venture out again. I had a nice bed of Egyptian mint for 40 years that moved three time with me but lost in the last drought two years ago. I finally found it again online and ordered it. Keeping my fingers crossed I can bring it through this years drought.

Posted - Jul 03 2021 : 12:43:53 PM Grace, Strawberry mint is a new herb to me but it sounds wonderful! I have not seen this herb down here but I will need to look harder. I wonder if it can tolerate the long hot and humid weather we have.

Posted - Jul 03 2021 : 06:53:14 AM I filled Annie's deck water bowl a little while ago. It's close to my strawberry mint so I felt of the leaves and it smelled so good. I called Annie to come in, but she was too busy smelling the strawberry mint to pay any attention to me. She has never paid any attention to any of my other herbs, but apparently she likes strawberry mint too.

Posted - May 23 2021 : 06:14:23 AM Like all of you I hadn't heard of strawberry mint and like all of you I wanted one so I ordered it today. A little late for me to pot a new plant but it should be okay. As long as it is settled in before it really starts to heat up in July.

Posted - May 19 2021 : 6:47:17 PM Here in Northern Michigan I have to make sure I plant any type of mint in containers otherwise my entire yard would soon be “minty fresh”! Learned. From. Personal. Experience. Ahem . . . |

Posted - May 19 2021 : 11:44:03 AM When I lived in SO CAL.. mint was like a weed and grew all year long.. loved it... but up in in the Inland NW,, nearly everything dies b-geraniums, most herbs and all mints. So I pretty much have to plant new each spring... If I mulch right,, I can save some of the plants.. but it's pretty much hit & miss.

Posted - May 17 2021 : 05:16:28 AM I love them and excited to try more varieties. Here in Texas they just grow away most of the year. They do die back for a few months in winter. They are some of the quickest to come back in spring.
Is your strawberry mint quick growing as well?

At the market where I got the strawberry mint, there was also a Mojito mint and a grapefruit mint.. the grapefruit had barely any scent.
