Posted - Mar 10 2007 : 6:10:37 PM Ok, gals. I was planning on getting my tubers for potatoes and sweet potatoes, and looked at Burpee--for my zone (6), I understand that the don't even begin SHIPPING the tubers until May 19....I'm pretty sure I'm reading that correctly...anyway, we went to see family up north today about 2 hours, and I mentioned to my elderly Aunt about getting my tubers when we came back up closer to May. She said, "you'll be too late then--you always put your potatoes in the ground on Good Friday. Dad was sometimes in the garden in the snow!"...So, what's the answer, then? She said the same about peas--if our last frost date is about May 5, I'm just a little confused by it all...AND this happens every year. I over-think it, and then I over process it, and then it becomes overwhelming and it's June before I know it and I'm too scared to make a mistake.
Just think of all of the roads there are...all of the things I haven't seen....yet. |
