Has anyone else got the bug? I'm itching to get my hands in the dirt, but living in Southern Indiana I'm going to have to wait a bit. We sometimes still have winter in spring, lol. I'm planning on setting out a few apple trees across the creek where our cabin is, I'm thinking about dwarfs since they bare sooner than semi-dwarf or regular trees. Does anyone else know anything about them? My grandparents use to have apple trees but over the years they've died off, I think there may be one left. They never worked them, we just ate them and made pies and fried apples. They were too busy with the farm to worry with the few apple trees they had.

Well, I bought a few things today. Patsy, it got so hard for me I put mine in pots last year, and some big whiskey barrels. My knees bother me a lot, and my back. Their so much easier to care for. I bought a lot of herbs and some white half runner green beans and carrot seed and cucumber. Then we went to visit the Amish and pick our milk up, and bought some rugs they had made. We always enjoy our visits. I'm trying to come up with something to plant in that will look good in front of my cabin porch, something primitive looking. I'm thinking maybe some wooden troughs or something. I guess I'll just have to look around n see what will look good and not offensive. I'm too picky sometimes, lol. Have a wonderful evening!

I've totally got the bug. I bought rosemary and thyme plants today that I'm going to pot up tomorrow. And while I started seeds awhile ago, they got, ahem, negelected... so am going to do the "official" round of seed starting tomorrow also.

Yes, Mikki, I went to Rural King yesterday and bought some seeds and am still looking in all my seed catalogs (I think 8 to this date) to see if there is anything else I am interested in. I am disabled so do all my gardening in containers so I don't have to bend so close to the earth. I looked at my pots yesterday and decided I need to get a few more probably even though I have tons.
I have to keep reminding myself that it can frost in this area into mid May which is more than two months away. But I can get some seeds started probably next month. But with temps in the 60's, it is sooooo hard to resist planting.

Yep, the bug is starting to hit me, too. We started a bunch of seeds-tomatoes, hollyhocks, coleus, snapdragons, foxglove, blanketflower, and some others. The rest of the veggies will get started soon as well.
