So what are you doing to get into garden shape?
Today I got a plum tree from gurney's & planted it between small storms that were blowing by....
Boy the bad knee, of course, the right one that I use for shoveling needs a little more strengthing.
I've deceided to weed/spring clean-up or something for 5 minutes a day this week, but if it's pouring I'll use the treadmill & do some stretching.
There's too much to do....

Planting the plum tree was fun, but the next few days afterward are a knee killer. At only 47 this is the pits. So I've got to find the knee support & WEAR it before I head out. I'm also trying to rub some soap under my nail too for easy clean up.

I ordered 10 raspberry plants from Johnnys's seed. Can't wait!

As far as gettingback into shape, my job is already pretty physically demanding, but my weed pullin' back will be whipped into shape here pretty quickly. That gets it ready for strawberry season!

I spin at the gym two days a week, lift weights (not too heavy) and use the orbiter a few days a week. But I really want to just get out and walk and ride my bike! Still snow here.

I bought some herb seeds last week. I am not sure when I can plant them with all the moving and stuff. I think I will probably plant them in a window box in my kitchen when we get moved into the new house. I found some neat galvanized containers at the Dollar Tree to use for it too. I wish I could plant them sooner but I doubt I will find room in the travel trailer we will be living in during the meantime.

I bought some organic tomato seeds today. I will start them next week. I have made my lists, ordered my perennials and mapped out my ideas on paper. Now all I need is for it to stop snowing here! I live just SW of Chicago and we've gotten over 19" of snow this month. I haven't seen the flowerbeds in two months! I'm ready to garden my little heart out. Mother Nature just needs to cooperate!

I have been using the treadmill at school also. We're not even close to planting season!

I've been swimming at the Y and taking some pseudo Yoga classes( my term. not theirs) I always loved yoga but age and joint problems have me going a little slower since i can't do all that kneeling anymore.
I am feeling better and more agile which in itself is a good thing.
Maybe I will be ready for the garden season afterall!

with a happy heart

I was thinking about his very thing Kristine. By late fall I am in good physical shape and can put in a long day's labor with nothing much other than just being tired. Then comes winter and the activities that go along with it...like sewing, knitting, catching up on reading, etc. Come spring, yikes!! Back hurts, neck is sore, muscles ache. So what does everyone do to keep in shape during the winter??

Lucky you, you can plant something. Our ground is frozen and covered in snow. I did buy some seeds the other day! Will start them around middle of March Michele
