Posted - Jul 01 2016 : 3:36:03 PM I am cleaning out all of my old seeds, and pitching older seeds (2011 or older). My question is, do you think it is OK to make bean soup out of all of my old bean seeds? I have quite a collection, and it would make a pretty soup for sure. After all, a bean seed is just a dried bean, right? Am I missing anything?

Posted - Jul 01 2016 : 3:42:38 PM Lisa, I have read ~ don't remember where ~ that there is a difference between beans for cooking and seed beans. What comes to mind is the conditions of care after harvesting. I would err on the side of safety and use them to put around candles in fruit jars.
