Posted - May 28 2015 : 8:14:24 PM I am just wondering if any farmgirls out there are also Master Gardeners? I am a Master Gardener intern through the University of Connecticut this year. I did all the classes, passed my mid-term and just have to complete my 60 volunteer hours and then pass my final. I am also having to complete a TSV - tree/shrub/vine project with 28 samples. We have to identify and cut samples and dry them, press them into a book with photos and then research and fill out an info sheet. It's very time consuming, but gosh, I've learned a lot. I've been gardening since I was seven years old, but there has been so much new to learn, too. They told us the UConn is the most complete, hardest of the MG classes, but I am really learning so much.
Anyone else a Master Gardener out there? Keep your fingers crossed, girls, that I finish the last half and pass my exam!

Yes the materials are soooo valuable. I hope I can stay active, will have to see. It is time consuming!

I haven't stayed active, though I have helped out when they needed me. It is enough to just maintain the homestead. I highly value the knowledge from that class and the resource materials I got from it. I am constantly referring to what I learned.

Posted - May 29 2015 : 1:00:09 PM Hi Sherone!
I loved the classes, too. It's been so helpful with bugs, trees, and other things that I hadn't really learned in my gardening life.
I am learning so many new tricks!
Thanks for the votes of confidence girls! There's so much to learn, but I am enjoying it.
Farmgirl Hugs, Nicole
PS Sherone, do you still stay active with the Master Gardeneners?
