Omg! Sometimes living out in the 'country' can be a disadvantage...
I have to drive 20 miles up the mountain to get to town or head 25 miles down the mountain to get to the City... sooo...

I have hit 5 different places in search of 'Sweet pea" seeds... and have come up with Bupkis, Nada, Zilsch!

I hit the Garden/feed store, our 2 markets, the True Value store up the mountain, I even hit the Dollar store in hopes...all they had were some veggies and lots of morning glories...,,, so on a recent trip down the mountain I stopped in at the WallyWorld (walmart) and the Home Desperate (Depot) stores and not a single pack of sweet pea seeds...
I know it's late in the season to plant them but we still have cold nights and warm days so I would like to plant a few anyway...

'Sow' does anyone have a few spare sweet pea seeds they could spare? 5-6 , what ever will fit in a small envelope...
I would be so gratefull.

if not, I will check in around the mid summer to see if anyone has any harvested seeds... that I can beg off of them. (or swap)
I just love sweet peas
,,,

Hey Kathy,
glad you are enjoying the little goodies I sent...
I luv yoyos,,, and yep attaching them to a head band would be cute...
I once sewed a bunch of yoyo onto a pair of rubber flip flops and they kept falling off as I walked around the campground... lol!

Grace,
My seeds came a few days ago. Thank you for the marigold seeds and for the little extras you tucked in. I used to carry a hanky all the time so with your help I will start again. I'm a yoyo newbie so I'm thinking of ways I will use them, maybe put a few on a hair band and maybe make a pin for one of my denim jackets with the other.

Thanks again,
Kathy

I can hardly wait, we have about 3 more weeks before I can safely start planting outside, so I am sprouting the seeds, a batch per week, so that come May, I will have a garden full of sweet peas, Moonflowers, Hiacynth bean, and other goodies for my garden blooming at different times.

heeheehee!!!

OMG! Kathy, Thank you.. I can hardly wait...
We had a bit of a freeze last night, and go figure, I didn't check the weather forecast, so my 3 Fig Tree seedlings took a hit, the leaves are wilted and droopy, I am just hoping the tree itself will survive... I guess I will wait 2 or so more weeks before any seeds propergated go outside.
Well faschnizzles! don't cha just hate droopy leaves?!? lol!

Hope you are back to your better self, don't over do....

Grace,
Dental problems last week (I'm such a baby about these things) and I work part time as a photographer and had a wedding and two other shoots over the weekend but your seeds were mailed out on Tuesday. I kept a few of the sweet pea seeds and am excited about trying them.

I also sent you some moonflower, garlic chives, and lemon basil seeds. Hope all grow wildly for you.

ok, all my house guests have left,,, everything is back in order and I have sent out proper 'Thank you' via the mail...

Today I set up my seed soaking station, so hopefully the seeds will split and send out a shoot, and then I can plant them in peat pots, until they are a few inches tall and then outside they go.. I can almost smell them!
Thank you for sharing your seeds with me.

Grace,
Picked up a packet of seeds today-they do look like fun so I'm going to plant a few myself.
I have a few other seeds that I saved from my plants last year, if your interested in any let me know and I will send them along too.
I know I have moonflower vine (my favorite-I find somewhere to plant this every year) and garlic chives. I probably have basil, lemon basil, parsley, and flat leaf parsley.

Email me your address and I will try to get this out on Monday.

Oh my, I just did a search on "Knee High Sweet peas"...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
" Flower Garden-Tips on Growing Sweet Pea From Seeds
Germination: DO NOT COVER SEED; 75-79°F; 5-7 days Finely cut leaves are topped with rich, soft colors . Great in a mass planting and as a cut flower. Zones 3-9. • Planting depth: Surface
•Soil temp for germ.: 60-70°F
•Days to germ.: 7-21
•Plant spacing: 8"-20"
•Days to maturity: 2nd year perennial
•Full sun
•Water less, drought tolerant
•SOW INDOORS
•Sow indoors 8-10 weeks before the last frost. Do not cover seed, as light aids in germination. Transplant outdoors after danger of frost is past, thin to 8-20". Germination period is 7-21 days at 60- 70ºF
•GARDEN HINTS: Full sun, average well drained soil. Can be used for cut flowers or as dried. Use in perennial beds and mass plantings "
I have never seen these... interesting,,,
Grace,
I was at my favorite seed store today and they had a few packs of Sweet Peas. The only variety they had was called knee high. If you would like some let me know.
