I know that many of you have gotten pounded with lots and lots of snow and are not "waiting" for more.
However, once again, here in the southwest we are experiencing LACK of precipitation, warmer than usual weather . . . and are concerned for another year of drought.

However, I took advantage of the lovely weather and cleaned up our garden, pulling up the black plastic mulch and frames we use to hold it down. We still have carrots so I dug a bunch of carrots too!

And, we pray for snow, at least in the mountains . . .

Over a foot of heavy wet snow . . . it is letting up a bit. The problem with heavy wet snow is damage to power lines, trees, etc.
i AM thankful we aren't getting wind or bitter cold with this. It is going to put some very serious, much needed moisture into the ground!

The road has been plowed, the neighbors have been out plowing out driveways (ours included), we've shoveled a path on the deck and in the yard. I cleared the snow off the roof of my little glamper trailer, which was a job because of the weight. I'm just glad it wasn't frozen ice . . yet. Thought it prudent to get that heavy wet snow off of there . . . I don't have any leaks and don't want any.

Our house has a propanel roof which is nice because the snow slides off pretty much by itself, especially wet stuff. So, we hear occasional thumps as a big hunk hits the ground.

I gave up on a hairdo . . . been snowed on, smooshed with a hood, earmuffs . . . oh well! Not going anywhere anyway!

It's heavy, wet snow and not terribly cold. I'm just hoping that is REALLY dumping snow in our mountains! That's our "storehouse" for our summer water. I just came back from a 2 mile trek in it . . .very sloppy and slushy road!

I hope you don't get ice storm, Sara! I'm hoping our heavy snow doesn't cause damage to power lines, etc.
Take care!
CJ

Glad you are getting snow ~~ it's raining here and we are under a winter storm watch for tonight & in the morning - 100 miles west of me they are predicting 2" of ice. Hopefully it won't get this far. My big oak tree is still dropping limbs damaged in the ice storm a year ago.

Yesterday and today I've been cleaning out my flower beds and rock gardens. Still have the largest flower bed to go and my herb garden.
Still waiting for snow . . .

CeeJay - I'm hoping with you for snow in the mountains. My part of Texas has been in a drought for over five years now and I know how important winter rain/snow is. Carrots in the ground this time of year must be a blessings. The only way we have garden carrots this time of year is canned/frozen/dried/or pickled.
