Posted - Nov 18 2014 : 2:28:18 PM Grace, thanks so much for the tips. I look forward to planting and spring-winter is just starting here in NJ so I have some time for planning and learning about what to do. Send any tips my way.

Posted - Nov 15 2014 : 9:35:31 PM Rita, I had a small lavender field when I lived in Spokane, WA... Hubby and I planted 125 lavender plants.... I had a sitting bench smack dab in the center so I could sit and watch the honey bees, mason bees and butterflies play and dance in my field... I do miss that. Currently I only have 8 lavender plants... and yes, there will be more.
Good luck in planting, just remember they do not like over watering or soggy soil... just ignore them, and they will do just fine... and the more you prune the healthier your plants will be.

Posted - Nov 15 2014 : 6:20:17 PM That looks like a great place for lavender. I can see the whole area filled with pretty, fragrant lavender. I think I will plant plenty of lavender this spring. I have had a couple of plants but wasn't very successful. They lasted a couple of years but then died. I had hoped they would spread like weeds but I will try again.

Posted - Nov 10 2014 : 09:10:24 AM Thanx Sara,,, I should have cut it back by now, but just figured the bees & butterflies would enjoy it a bit longer. I use to live in Spokane, WA., w/ feet & feet of snow each Winter... and my lavender did quit well... I am surprised yours doesn't, as it is a drought tolerant plant... but it could all depend on so many factors as to why a certain plant will grow great in one area and not in another...
Carole, I Luv your Bedella Bush... Butterfly Bush and so do the butterflies & humming birds!
