DH worked hard putting the garden to bed this weekend. I offered to help but he was determined to do it himself. Planning for next year.

I'm putting my garden to bed this weekend. Pulled up the last of the tomato plants and eggplants. I need to put a vinyl sheet over the weeds growing in the bed in my front yard--it'll kill the weeds so hopefully they won't be as bad next year.

I just got eggplant and peppers too! It is a great feeling to use stuff you grow. Very empowering...

It all comes back to the ground!

Pretty much all done here to in the Chicago area. Just raking out the occasional leaf from my beds now. I'm already checking out clearance sections of gardening catalogs and making a little Christmas list for myself. Like all gardeners, looking forward to next spring.

Thought the garden was completely done for the year but went out today and picked a bucket of string beans and there were even some peppers and eggplant left. Sure miss all those great fresh vegetables and fruit we grow. So thankful to be able to eat from our own back yard all summer.

Aw, kinda sad. BUT, now you can look through catalogs and daydream about what you want to do.
