We have a massive amount of peppers (sweet peppers, jalapenos, habaneros, cayenne, serrano chilis, etc.) that just got harvested out of the garden today. We've already canned salsa using the first harvest of peppers and toms.

Any suggestions? Perhaps a chutney, but recipes would be nice. Does anyone know of anything?

Hi, Krissy!

I love it when my pepper harvest overflows! Besides dehydrating my chili peppers and freezing some green bell peppers for winter, I also make hot pepper relish and hot pepper jam. I have both of my recipes on my website. Here are the links for you, if you're interested:

Hot pepper relish: http://sanctuarygardener.wordpress.com/2013/09/04/hot-pepper-relish/
Hot pepper jam: http://sanctuarygardener.wordpress.com/2013/09/20/hot-pepper-jam/

I use the pepper relish on hot dogs, hamburgers, greens (think, collards, mustard, kale)...it's awesome! I usually make my relish with 70% hot peppers & 30% sweet peppers because I like it pretty hot. But you can combine your peppers any way you want to, as long as you have 10 cups of chopped peppers.

The pepper jam is great with crackers (and cream cheese if you like that) or even as a dip for veggies (instead of Ranch dressing).

With both recipes, the flavor is enhanced by combining several varieties of hot peppers. So, use what you're harvesting.

Hope this helps!
