Posted - Oct 30 2013 : 04:36:43 AM We may have had a bad "garden" harvest, but we were blessed with our own pears this year. Woot!
I've been busy canning pear jam, baking with pears, and even made pear liqueur (yet to be tried). I have all sorts of recipes to try, and will post them on my blog as I do.

And we don't spray our trees here. Yum.

Posted - Oct 30 2013 : 7:37:30 PM lucky you... I had planted several pear trees (back in Spokane, WA.) and they never did anything... and my asian pear trees died... uugghh! I luv Pear Schnapps (brandy)... that's the German in me! :>)
My favorite pear recipe is, 'apple~pear sauce'.... using 1/2 apples and half pears, cook down like you would if making applesauce.. it's really yummy.
As for your Pear liqueur... I'll be right over with some of my gal~pals to taste it for you! lol!
