Posted - Jul 24 2013 : 08:38:48 AM Woo-hoo! With the wet spring and hot sun, we are up to our ears in wild raspberries and blackberries. I've made one batch of jam so far, and have filled the freezer with six GALLONS of berries! These are all on my property, and I have been babying the bushes for the last few seasons. We've always had berries, but in twenty years of living here, NEVER this many! We pick twice a day, morning and evening. They are big, beautiful and sweet! Guess putting up with some not perfect weather has its benefits! Will be making more jam and yummy cobbler!!
Anyone else with a good crop this year?

Posted - Jul 24 2013 : 11:35:23 AM Congratulations...you'll have blueberry cobbler with snow on the ground! I was just making fig/strawberry preserve. Tomorrow I am doing blueberries. We got a ton of figs and blueberries this year and I am so excited too. Doesn't it feel good to be able to say, "Yeah I grew this. Here's some jam" ?
It all comes back to the ground!
