I've never been successful at growing carrots so I tried something different this year. I planted them in a large container. They're a variety that grows short and round. They were looking really crowded so I pulled a few out--I had tiny, little carrots! I ate them and they were so fresh and good. Now I'm trying to figure out what to do with the greens--may add them to a stir-fry that I plan for tomorrow.Just so glad I was finally able to grow some carrots. And my blackberries are close to being ripe.

How exciting, Cindy! I totally can appreciate your excitement! Did you do anything special to the soil when you planted them this time? Carrots never seem to come in for me as they should, either! I usually plant them at the beginning of summer and let them grow over the winter, believe it or not. If I plant them in May and June, by the following March, I've got big, beautiful sweet carrots in time for Easter! LOL! SO weird!

Enjoy!

I love baby carrots too! Enjoy yours and I hope your experiment will be a complete success with the carrots that do grow to maturity.
