I was looking at one of the farmgirls website Sheila about mulching and someone had made a comment on her site about watching a video called Back to Eden.
This gentlemen started a different type of gardening and is having amazing results with hardly any work and no tiller. He blew my mind away.It takes awhile to watch but its so darn cool.I watched it in 3 seperate segments.

What he is doing makes sense to me.I think his garden is magical.
This man Paul who gardens in a very amazing way walks very close with the Lord. He quotes scripture throughout this video that pertains to what he is doing and its right on. He feels the Lord has lead him down this wonderful path. There are other people featured in the film along with the crops and orchard he is growing. His orchard is like none I have ever seen.

I don't know how many farmgirls have seen this video but thought it was very inspiring and wanted to post the link for any of you ladies interested. Here is the link below. Hope you all like it.
If this link does not work just google Back to Eden and you should be able to find it.

Okay wanted to update the woodchips that I put in the garden early this year. The tomato blight had already put the hurt on the tomatoes before I put them down and we had tons of rain. The zukes did really good before the squash bugs won and the sweet peppers did really good and the basil went crazy. But this is the cool part of this experiment.

Today I started to dig the sweetpotatoes.I have grown them for many years and they do pretty good. I only have dug up about 6 hills so far and there was a good mess under each mound. Here's the amazing part. Normally the sweetpotatoes vine all over the garden and really cover things up. They vined again but more this time and some of the vines rooted into the mulch and made more potatoes in those areas. Everywhere they put down roots I would find extra potatoes. This is amazing because I have so many potatoes extra that I have never had before. They made extra besides in the mounds. I think it was the mulch.
I still have more to dig but I am fighting a sinus infection and I'm feeling really sick and dizzy. But wanted to let everyone know about this. It sure was a nice surprise and the skins are so pinky rosy looking. Some of the sweetpotatoes are 3 and 4 pounds and some are really cute fingerlings. I am really excited about the potatoes.Well gonna take a break and try to get a little rest.

Linda what did you think of your garden and wood chips? Any comments on what you liked and what you would do different?

Glad some of you farmgirls were able to watched the video.
I agree with you Michele the film definately confimed that for me.Paul has a way of bringing that to light.
I kinda did jump right in but they delivered the raw mulch so quick and I was not expecting that. So with that big pile looking at me I felt I had to get on it.
The leaves you have make awesome mulch.I think thats one of my favorite mulches and they smell so good.
Darlene glad the link worked and you can watch it too.
Alyssa I thought about ordering the cd to have here. That would be nice to have.
Kristin I hope you can get some chips soon. Think how much less mud you would have in your garden when it rains and pours like it did this spring.

I am pretty much done putting the raw mulch down. I put over 50 loads in and I have way overdone it. I can hardly straighten up. I am one big sore mess but my heart and mind are so happy to have done it. Now I still have half a pile left and have other places I want to put it. I am going to take a day or 2 off and recover.

Linda good luck with your wood chips. Hope it all works out for you. You really jumped in quickly! Congrats. I have alot of bags of leaves I am going to chop up,(if they aren't already) and mulch my garden. I already have alot of grass around the plants I had put in. I do have wood/sawdust mulch on my raspberries, and the ground under that is soft and fluffy yet. I have pine needles around my blueberries, and that is lovely too.
good luck

I have watched this video over and over again. I like the ideas for gardening that it gives, but more than that, it taught me that we should let God into every aspect of our lives. After all, He is in charge and He knows all!

I finally have a pile of raw mulch or shreaded tree chips. I am going to start putting it in the garden this evening. Its gonna take awhile one wheelbarrow at a time. I hope I won't have to weed like I use to and it does what it did in the video. I am too excited!!!

I couldn't find the whole video, but did see some short ones about him. I never saw how he actually did it himself. So I guess I'll have to try to find the whole video to see it.
