Posted - Jun 08 2013 : 12:35:27 PM Ok, I am ashamed to admit this, but I have been gardening for years & just now discovered the beauty of a good hoe. I can' believe how much easier it makes so many things. I got a nice sharp hoe from AM Leonard & am so in love that I refuse to leave it outside. I have been keeping it in the living room.![](icons/icon_smile_big.gif) WHY did I wait so long??

Posted - Jun 11 2013 : 3:00:23 PM Peggy Ann, I know I am silly for keeping my hoe in the living room, but you gave me a new idea; work it into the décor! & I'm with Diana, as far as putting a bright color on my tools to find them, & Peggy Ann, I'm with you when as far as finding them in the weeds oops, I mean garden. I have so many weeds that I have decided to open my garden to the public as an "Invasive Species Museum" and charge admission.![](icons/icon_smile_big.gif) ![](icons/icon_smile_evil.gif) ![](icons/icon_smile_big.gif) ![](icons/icon_smile_evil.gif)

Posted - Jun 11 2013 : 12:27:59 PM Lisa...for all the gardening I have done over many many years...I have never owned a "Hoe" either. I had to laugh at your comment about loving it so much you were keeping it in the Living Room. My home decore is Vintage, Victorian, Up-cycle, Antique Design by Peggy...but I never realized that I could go Rural Chic too...just by adding a "Hoe" to my Eclectic Mix. *giggle - giggle*. And now that I read that two of you keep your hoes in the Living Room...I'm thinking you just may be starting a Rural / Farm Fad or something. LOL And Diana the pink tape on the handles of your Gardening tools sounds more Shabby Chic to me. I'm loven the concept though and so easy to find those tools in the weeds, I mean the Garden. LOL

Posted - Jun 11 2013 : 04:16:15 AM I have a hula hoe too and absolutely love it! It cuts the roots right out from under those pesky weeds before they get too big. It doesn't reside in my living room though, it has a nice dry spot in my garden shed along with the rest of my tools of the trade.

Posted - Jun 08 2013 : 8:06:22 PM Love my long 4 tines fork hoe I have never had one and I inherited from my ML. But my go to garden tool is my Hula Hoe.
I kept losing them in the garden so I got a roll of hot pink duck tape and put a band about 12 to 18 inches around the handle and voila not a missing tool in the garden. And so pretty. Diana

Posted - Jun 08 2013 : 6:55:11 PM I also love my "hoe." It is a skuffle hoe and back in the day was called a "hula hoe." The handle on my first one broke and so I had my son cut it down to a very short handle and then purchased another with a full length handle. Never can have enough hoes. Then, keeping them nice and sharp is also a good idea.

Posted - Jun 08 2013 : 6:50:30 PM Cindy! I am glad to be in your company! OK I have picked my dear hoe's name Antonia After the novel I just finished, about the strong, unabashed Bohemian pioneer woman that demonstrated strength and vigor.. http://www.amazon.com/%C3%81NTONIA-complete-unabridged-illustrations-ebook/dp/B00BNBTG8C/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1370741906&sr=8-2&keywords=my+antonia OK maybe a bit much for a hoe, but I will defer to her endurance when I am in my garden in the humid OH summer.
