Posted - May 01 2013 : 07:22:37 AM Going to put some of these ideas to use in my yard and hang some on the wood fence. I think planting a couple of flowers with my grandson and sitting them on the picnic table would be a fun project for us to do together. What do y'all think?![](http://www.maryjanesfarm.org/Snitz/Images/Easy-DIY-Flower-Pot-Centerpieces.jpg) ![](http://www.maryjanesfarm.org/Snitz/Images/Tin-pot-2.jpg) ![](http://www.maryjanesfarm.org/Snitz/Images/Tin-pot-3.jpg)

Posted - May 02 2013 : 8:20:43 PM I think you farmgirls are on to something. The flowers and "tin" cans are really cute. Watering could be a problem though.

Posted - May 02 2013 : 08:16:05 AM SUPER cute, Anita! LOVE that idea! I'm going to have to try that on my deck! You know, that was my first thought: since they're metal, you'll want to be very careful. In direct sunlight the can and dirt can really heat up and "cook" your flowers' roots, you know? Trust me... I'm a reformed infamous black thumb! LOL! I just love what you've done, though - very smart, very creative! :) Hugs - Nini

Posted - May 02 2013 : 05:18:15 AM Amanda I hadn't thought of that. Our summers get very hot too and I can imagine sun shining on metal pots would get scorching hot. Better place in a shadier spot, thanks!

Posted - May 01 2013 : 10:55:21 AM Very cute! My only problem with smaller containers is that they dry out so quickly in the Texas heat that I have a very hard time keeping things alive in them. Probably would help if I watered every day in the summer, but I don't. Oh well, lol. Maybe your summers aren't as intense or long as ours :0)
