Don't know if its the rain or super hot days but the small patch of Southernwood I planted has gone crazy...so instead of just chopping it down & getting rid of what I can't use I would like to offer it to you all...I also have it in the barter section.....I plan today to go out & cut a bunch to dry but if you will pay postage on it once its dry I will send it to you...there is plenty so just ask ok.....even giving it to all of you I am sure I will still have lots left...so just let me know how much you would like & I will do my best to get that amount to you...Michele'
update...confused southernwood with wormwood so am now out of the southernwood after a few asked for it but have wormwood drying if any would like that...just send me your address & how much you would like ...
The plant's characteristic odor can make it useful for making a plant spray against pests. It is used in companion planting to suppress weeds, because its roots secrete substances that inhibit the growth of surrounding plants. It can repel insect larvae when planted on the edge of the cultivated area. It has also been used to repel fleas and moths indoors.

I use both in small cloth bags to deter bugs & moths & hand it in my coops for getting rid of the flies.

The southernwood herb is a semi-evergreen plant or shrub - reaching a hight of one to two meters. It belongs to the same genus (Artemisia) as wormwood, sea wormwood and tarragon.

It's a very old medicinal herb and very decorative. Grown in many places as an ornamental.

Southernwood has many branches, grey-green and pinnately divided leaves, and dense panicles of multiple tiny yellow flowerheads. However, flowering does not occur in cool summers.

there is a lemon scented one & a more earthy piney scented one like I have....it is used to repel insects such as flies & moths...it is good to hang in barns, chicken coops, dog houses anywhere flies are...in bags you can put it in closets or trunks with clothes to keep moths away

I would like some! I won't need more than would fill a normal seed pack or so. :)

Live simply. So that others may simply live.
