Posted - Feb 28 2012 : 11:59:23 AM Hey Ladies,
I have decided to be ambitious this year.... I am doing the bigger of my garden plans.
I did my graph paper layout of my garden , making sure that I will be able to do my crop rotation. Estimated the amount of seeds that I needed, went down to the seed company on the other side of town (Check them out http://www.americanseedco.com/mp_includes/body.asp ) and then came home and promptly started my celery seeds. I also put in an order for some fence posts at my local hardware store so I can put up a video tape fence to maybe help keep critters out. I am really excited and hopefull of it this year. My DH just shook his head but at least promised to help.
I am more than excited, I am doing alot of plants because I WANT to be self sufficient and have my own food. By the way, how I got my DH to agree on the bigger garden was because I made vegetable soup, potatoes, carrots, celery, and onions in beef stock, and then told him, we could grow all this and have these items on hand instead of having to buy them... he was sold.
Here is my garden at the moment and the goo lef over from the well and our neighbor's house in the background.
Wish me luck today!

Posted - Mar 12 2012 : 3:29:44 PM Tons upon tons of headway in two days! here is my backyard now
The steaks in the ground is roughly the placement of the garden, about 20 x 30 feet, plus a bumpout, but it is reserved for strawberries.
I have my raspberry bushes and one of my fruit trees right now and my strawberry plants are sprouting.
