Posted - Feb 12 2012 : 08:10:35 AM You know...the ones that you will always keep in your garden from year to year?
I have a few:
Tomatoes: Rouge D'Irak, Black Krim, and a 'mystery' tomato brought from Armenia to my friend
Peppers: Jupiter; an excellent big bell that produces best for me in the fall. Very productive until frost.
Broccoli: Packman; it is one of the only ones that produce well in my area because of the short winter. I had a record crop this year. It, however, IS a hybrid. More trials to come this fall with some heirloom seed.

Posted - Feb 28 2012 : 06:45:29 AM Always tomatoes! Hot peppers (a variety of 3 or 4 kinds), and I let the kids decide what they want to grow each year. We don't have much room, so we've done string beans, cucumbers, lettuce... Always experimenting! Isn't it Spring yet? |

Posted - Feb 27 2012 : 10:10:26 AM Roma tomatoes, cukes, green peppers. Hoping my rhubarb comes up this year. My ten year old got a little harvest happy and cut the seed head off last summer! Even if it doesn't come back, it was worth it. He was so proud to show off his "farmer" skills!

Posted - Feb 27 2012 : 04:45:31 AM This year is going to be my first time growing a full garden, with my Grandma's help. And she will be teaching me all things preserving. I am going to try a little of everything to see what I like to grow and what will grow best for me. Broccoli is what we eat most of but I don't know anyone who grows it in my area. I will be trying tomato, green bean, dry pole bean, carrots, onions and some blue sweet corn. |

Posted - Feb 22 2012 : 07:17:44 AM This Spring we are going to plant green beans, onions, carrots. We are switching up on different veggies. Besides the usual tomatoes, cucumbers and absolutely lettuce of any types. We have such a small little area for planing (it's pathetic, but it's something) lol.

Posted - Feb 22 2012 : 06:47:15 AM I will eat any veggie but a raw tomato. :) But I sure grow a lot of tomatoes for canning. Otherwise everything else is fair game...and it might not make it to the house when I'm harvesting! :)

Posted - Feb 21 2012 : 5:59:01 PM a variety or tomatoes and peppers, leaf lettuce, and green beans are all definite. There will be several new additions this year.
We have tried corn, cucumbers and zucchini in the past without great success. I may give cukes another go this year. We also tried onions for the first time last year, they didn't do great, but I will give them another try.
