I love roses! I was just thinking about what flowers all of you enjoy the most? It's really hard to pick just one.

Hard to pick a favorite, because I love them all sooo much! I would have to say its a toss between pansies and sweet peas. We plant them every year. I just love opening my front door and breathing in the scent of the sweet peas when a breeze comes through.

My absolute favorite is a single yellow rose. Just something about it. I live near the Heirloom Rose Gardens and love to wander through there for hours on end when I get the chance.

I am a flower addict. I can freely admit that because I have a wonderful husband who has willingly accepted it and now feeds my addiction.
My daughters (6 and 8) are also addicts and have helped me plant well over 1000 bulbs on our new property where we are building our house.

I can begin with my children's birth flowers--paper whites, roses, water lilies, gladiolas but the list continues on with daffodils and lily of the valley, camellia,Lavender OK I will not continue because I am going to the property to plant more today.
I have started posting pics. of my favorites to my pinterest page so I can look at them even when they are not in season.

I love Peonies - I was lucky enough to buy a house with antique, established peonies, and every spring I love to watch them bloom - also lilacs, iris, sunflowers, dahlias. I would love to plant a flower garden specifically for cut flowers - there was a beautiful garden featured in MJF a few years back - cut flowers and bouquets..

For me, I think flowers are seasonal--I love, love, all the spring time bulbs, forcing their way through the cold wet ground in the Spring--hyacinth and daffodils, and of course, wild sweet Violets (so much so I named my daughter after them!). In the summer, I love my butterfly garden flowers because they provide so much enjoyment--they're gorgeous to look at, not so pretty to smell (unless you like really heady skunky smells!) but the vibrant colors with the butterflies flitting around, well, I'm hooked each and every year. I also love my clematis blooms, the size of saucers, the color of the richest purple velvet.
In winter, I love the heliabore!

I could never choose just one favorite, but at this time of year I'm craving the first sight of forsythias and snowdrops.

Ceejay, I've seen your Colorado Columbines. They were growing right along the road when we visited a friend in Estes Park. Strangely, they reminded me of home since we have very similar columbines growing 'feral' in our NY yard.

Wild or "wood" violets, hands-down. I knew the Mister was the right one when he picked a bouquet of them for me. (Violet is also the only floral scent that I can wear without it smelling like acid.)

Although it's more of a bush, lilacs have stolen my heart since I was a child. Gran always grew them, and I would always pick some for my teacher every year, as soon as the blooms popped up. When I moved to Florida - no more lilacs. I swore I would grow lilacs as soon as I moved back to the right zone, and here I am! In fact, I have ordered some lilac bushes which should be delivered to the new house in the next couple of months. So excited! Every spring I'll pick a nice bouquet in honor of Gran and all my old teachers!

I love morning glories too Peggy! I'll have to see if I have a picture somewhere of the "buttercups" I'm talking about. The ones I saw on Google weren't the ones I was talking about :s. Maybe all of you will know what their real names are lol.

When it comes to flowers, I'm like a kid in the candy store. The ones in front of me are my favorite!

I have to say pansies always make me smile.

Pam...Lady Slippers are so rare anymore but they are gorgeous! Speaking of ditch flowers...I love
Queen Anne's Lace and it is prolific around here. Buttercups are Sweet flowers, the ones with the real
waxie petals. I too love a lot of the old fashion flowers, like Nasteriums, Hollyhock, violets...oh the
list could just go on and on huh? I also love wild roses, delphinium,sweet-peas,morning glory. I had a
morning glory that I planted last spring and it was breath-taking. I called it The God Light...I'll post a picture on here and you will see why.

All of the flowers looked just like that. Isn't that just amazing? I must gets some more this year as
I have moved. The picture shows this bloom as blue...but it is really a majestic deep purple.

Hugs,
peggy

I love daisies! I also really like pansies, johhny jump-ups, and "buttercups" (I'll have to see if I have any pictures of said buttercups). And I like the wild tiger lilies & lady slippers & brown eyed susans in the ditches. Of course, with all the nasties that they use on fields anymore, I'm surprised there are still some out there. Depends on the year too.

I love the smell of Magnolia's. Growing up my parents had a Magnolia tree, I loved the leaves and the flowers.
