We have a plethora of nurts growing (nurts = nasturtiums) and a neighbor told us that you can save the pod thing for planting next year. Since we have not done that before, can someone advise on how best to do that? When do we pick those off the plant? When the plant is done blooming or do we do it now? Where do we pick it off from - the base of the pod/seed thing or further down the stem?

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks!

Thank you, Martha. Yes, the pod/seed thing does look like what we planted as a dry pod thing. So it dries on the plant and then we pull them off? That makes sense.

Thank you so much!

Krissy, Ive saved them before...I just wait until theyre dry...do you remember what the seeds looked like when you planted them? I think they will look like dried garbanzo beans...when the pod is dry, they should be ready to take out and save. Keep them dry and you can grow them, they are the seeds.
