Posted - Aug 02 2006 : 8:05:23 PM in this hot, humid august-time .. are your flowers flourising on languishing on the vine .. parched in the summer sun? how about those WEEDS .. they always seem to grow faster and more abundant than the flowers and veggies. actually, all of my veggies are slow growing .. (i did plant late though!) .. no one decent size squash or zucchini yet!) LOTS of self-seeded gourds though! tomatoes are green and/or puny compared to last year!!
SUNFLOWERS are starting to POP though! xo

Posted - Aug 05 2006 : 1:28:40 PM Hello, my girlfriend Joanna gave me some of her step father's home grown tomatoes. They are wonderful! You can see them on my blog. My figs and mangoes are growing, I am waiting for them to ripen. :)

Posted - Aug 03 2006 : 07:00:22 AM We finally got our first fresh tomatoes - still have many that are green. Tomatoe plants this year are "hedge" high, first time ever I have had to prune the bushes. Pole green beans got a bit "singed" from the high heat we had. Flowers are doing good, but the weeds are doing better.

Posted - Aug 03 2006 : 05:27:53 AM Frannie, here in Virginia it is as hot and humid as we can ever remember...and the grass, the flowers, the veggies, everything is growing like mad. DH recently said it's like being in a horror movie, where the landscaping is taking over the yard, the house and the inhabitants....aaaaaahhhh!
