Oh Gloria I love all your Tomatoe plants. I usually just plant the big beef hybrids. But this fall I am trying a new Tomato plant. It is called Chalk's Early Jewel Tomato. It was an exchange seed packet. It saids on the packet that it was developed by James Chalk of Norristown, Penn.
introduced in 1910. Good flavor balance, heavy yeilds of round 4-6 oz. red fruit. I hope it does well for me. Last year I planted some heirlooms but they did not do well. I was disappointed. My big beef hybrids always does good and I use them for canning or freezing. Or just plain eating!

You would be welcome! Yesterday Ted and I were sitting in the garden and he said we should capture that moment to remember it in the winter. It's funny because almost 20 years ago as I started the garden and started removing lawn he would laugh every time I would tell him that w/o lawn it would be easier. It finally truly is. Thanks!

Every time I look at your gardens, I am in awe. YOur tomato crop looks lovely, so unlike the pitiful blights stricken plants that plague most of us here in the OH valley.
I want to bring a lounge chair, & hang out in your garden. |
