Posted - Jul 30 2006 : 3:46:28 PM Has anyone successfully gotten rid of spotted knapweed from their yards? I don't mean a few plants but rather a large number of them? My big boss/kinda neighbor and his wife have a place by a lake in western Montana. He says they've tackled it by fertilizing and planting grass seed. I just have WAY too much and it's encroaching on other things. I hate to resort to Roundup or some other sort of spray, but I'm getting very desperate.
Thanks in advance! Karin |

It looks like I will have to go the spraying route. I indirectly know a professional and will get an estimate from him.
Wish I didn't have to go this route, but...

Posted - Aug 01 2006 : 11:41:18 AM You probably have too much to pull up by the roots. That stuff is impossible. It kills everything around it, even grass. The only thing I know of is a chemical spray like Roundup. Sometimes I have had to use it full strength and carefully spray only the knapweed. Try to get it before it sets its seeds.
