Okay..I give up! Having a hard keeping up with weeds in the garden. Either we are gone, or it is raining, or too hot,or the mosquitoes are dive bombing...lots of excuses, I know. Waaaaa. I'm just growing flowers this year and herbs, perennials at that. So, they don't even need that much care. The blades of grass are taller than the cone flowers. So, I'll try the square foot weeding. Maybe a checkerboard effect to keep it interesting. Ugh!

I too got frustrated this year. I'm 6 months pregnant and we had abnormally high humidity and heat so as soon as I got caught up with my garden and it was looking fabulous we got that hot spell for a week and now some of the weeds are as tall as my peas, in only a week!!! I am so far behind with weeding and its time to start preserving so instead of concerning myself with removing ALL the weeds, I only get the big ones that are in my way of harvesting, that way I don't waste time weeding when I need to be harvesting so I don't fall behind on that. Of all things you don't want to fall behind on harvesting just to have the garden look nice :) It's kind of like my house. It could be spotless for days on end but the one messy day I have is the only day that week I have company. I saw a sign that said " My house was clean last week, sorry you missed it!" :) I'm making a sign for my garden that says "My garden was weedless last week, too bad you missed it!" Maybe that will stop the criticism from other people about my garden. It's all good, let people think/say what they want as long as you get a harvest who cares!!! :)

They are only weeds. Arise. Go forth. And conquer. :-)

Just leave the weeds and call it "free-range" gardening!

I ask not for a larger garden, but for finer seeds.

I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.

Guess I am through with my whine fest for the week. It has stopped raining for the day. A bit of a breeze. Not too hot. DH weeded 1/4 of the garden. I just finished 1/4 of the garden..oh, I guess that's half..and it is not even noon. Yippee!
