Posted - Jul 15 2011 : 8:06:11 PM Hello Ladies, My DH brought me a beautiful purple orchid yesterday. I am not a fan of flowers in the house but he was so sweet I just couldnt act upset. I have greenery in thehouse but not flowers. I am not sure how to deal with these plants and I hear the are a pain to grow and keep alive. I have to work really hard on having plants in the house. I am wondering if anyone can help with some direction in what I need to do to keep this plant alive.... Thanks Deborah

Posted - Jul 16 2011 : 5:43:19 PM I have several orchids, had 3 but killed it with overwater. I'd google, but I was told just to wet it every 20 days, let it drain, not to sit in any water. I have small pebbles at the bottom of my larger container that I sat the orchid container in. Have gorgeous blooms. They need subdued light...like from a north or east window.
