HI all,
Not been in this thread much, but been in the sewing room alot. Just wanted to stop by and mention my love for homegrown tomatoes. Here in Virginia, the tomatoes have been mealy for a couple of years. Does anyone know what makes a tomato mealy? Haven't had a decent one for a while and really missing that sweet homegrown taste!

A patient of mine is having her husband bring me some homegrown tomatoes....says they taste like sweet summer sunshine!! I can hardly wait.

Here is a link my patient's husband sent me for a song called homegrown tomatoes. I hope you enjoy it!

The link is in the article near the top. Really cute song.

Thanks in advance for the mealy tomato answers!

I've never had a home-grown tomato that is mealy. Did you personally grow them? I know if you refrigerate them, they can become mealy. Maybe cool weather can cause the same thing.

I've got about two dozen hanging on the vines, but they won't turn red!! I guess too many cloudy days. I can't wait...if I could wish them red they sure would be!
