We don't have much room in my yard for a real veggy garden so I just stick them in potts. Most of the time I can get some good results.

I am thinking the string beans was not such a good idea. But, we will see. And that pumpkin! If I get one small pumpkin, I will be very happy.

I do have two small plots up next to the house. Some herbs growing. I just love the lavendar. What is the best way to dry it? And when is the best time to cut it? Can this be done all summer long or do I have to wait till the fall. I just love the smell.

and some flowers.

We are once again trying some sunflowers. I think of them as squirrel food. Can’t get them any fresher then climbing up the stalk and eating the flowers. I hope to snap a few pictures of that.

I will have to try the carrots, beets and onions. Maybe even a little lettuce too.

I have planted in five gallon buckets and such many times because we were movin, in too small of a place, or weren't very sure where we would be in a few months. I find most things do well in containers and even travel fairly well if they don't slide around on the trip.

I even have some things in pots this year and we are livin in a very permanent location now! I just enjoy my herbs in pots and I want some things growin on the porch and deck because I like the way it looks. I don't really 'do' flowers though, unless they can be made into jelly or used in cookin!

I'm kinda strange that way. I don't like what I would consider wasted space or energy. I like to think I'm bein productive when I water, weed, plant, or even just spend time starin at my plants tryin to see them grow. I swear you can see beets grow if you watch close enough! And talk about pretty with a ring of red leaves outside the pot, a ring of lacy carrot tops inside that, then a clump of onion tops stickin out of the middle! It's art, I swear it is!

Happy to be a "Raggedy Ann" in a Barbie World!

I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.
