I am trying to find something natural and healthier for ALL that can get rid of these pests. I took out some of the lupine but can't bare to do that to everything.
Please give me your tried and true recipes! Thanks.

Stephanie, if I'm using dish soap I usually mix about 1-2 tsp of dish soap per gallon of water. Enough for it to feel equal to or slightly more soapy than you use when you are washing dishes by hand. You need to see suds and be able to feel the slipperiness of the soap in the solution when you rub your fingers together.
The Safer (or similar brand) Insecticidal Soap is available at garden centers and will have mixture rates on the bottle - it seems to vary somewhat depending on the brand and the concentration.
The above are two separate treatments for Aphids and should not be mixed together.
The way either of these treatments works is that the solution coats the aphid and dissolves the outer waxy layer of it's skin, which ultimately dehdrates it to death. In order to be effective the spray has to be applied to the point of running off the surface so that the plant and it's aphid residents are fully coated.

Marilyn, Can you tell me how much Safer's to use? The ratio with water and detergent? Thank you!
Rachel, I have lavender, tea tree, geranium & peppermint....are you saying that if you don't have the nature's fresh you just use the eo that you have? Do you know what is in the parasite homeopathic? is that the brand name?
I'd love to use those that I have, plus the front area would smell great too~

How about plain dish detergent mixed with water or Safer's insecticidal soap? I spray these to control aphids on seasonal color installations at work and it stops the aphids in their tracks. You do have to spray two or three times until all generations are killed but it's safe and effective. You could also try adding or encouraging beneficial insects in your yard like lady bugs which will eat aphids.

We mix this up and use it for every bug on everything inside and outside and it works very very well; works on humans and animals. The Nature's Fresh is an enzyme spray that I get from Nature's Sunshine Products..when I'm out of the Nature's Fresh I mix it with water and while it still works it just doesn't seem to work quite as well as with the Nature's Fresh.
1 bottle nature's fresh
parasite homeopathic 24 drops
lavender 20 drops
thyme 8 drops
tea tree 12 drops
geranium 8 drops
peppermint 8 drops
