So it wasn't as big as you'd expect a bush goliath to be, but it was 1.)the very first fruit of our labor. 2.) Tasty, and 3.)Big enough for my 5 egg neufchatel and tomatoe omlet. :D

What are you getting to eat first?

Our tomato plants are really producing! Kristin: Those cherry tomatoes are addictive. I take a handful at a time to eat! Today we picked 13 big tomatoes. I wish the okra would produce as much.

I agree with you Kris! There is nothing like a bacon and tomato sandwich, thick bacon and big thick juicy tomato slices. Never tried it on sourdough but it sounds good and will be trying it.

I ate a little cherry tomato earlier as I was watering! I can hardly wait for a big ole juicy big one now. My favorite sandwich is tomato and thick cut bacon on sourdough bread. I could eat them all day. But the tomato has to be ripe and juicy. I have to have a stack of napkins.

wow!! the only thing we have edible aside from herbs right now are carrots and parsnips that survived the winter. I think strawberries will be first. We are so behind out here in the pacific NW!!

Lettuce and spinach for about a month or so, getting too hot for it now. Some wonderful broccoli, beets, onions. Been picking peas and snowpeas, but not enough for a meal yet (I blanch and freeze as I pick) Green beans should be ready this week. I have one tomato that is full of little green beauties that I'm drooling over... :)

We have had so many tomatoes that I have been canning them 27 jars as of this morning. Onions, squash and lots of potatoes. Cucumbers are almost ready to pick, peas and corn will be ready in about a week. Needless to say I am about to be really busy.

I had my first salad today with our lettuce and one radish. there are a bunch of green strawberries in the garden, but I think I would like them to get red first:) First snap beans are just coming up along with the cukes.

Green w/ envy! I (finally) planted my tomatoes in our water-logged area last Saturday but somehow don't think they'd taste quite as good...

It sounds like Paula and I have the same garden! LOL!! I picked another big bunch of snowpeas this morning. I had so many last week that I took some to the Farmers Market and sold them! I will be making stiry fry this week with some of the kale, broccoli and snowpeas. YUM!

Jen, your omelet sounds wonderful!

Lucky you Jen! I just put my tomato plants in the garden over the weekend. I am hoping to have some by the end of July. Enjoy yours!

We have had asparagus, green onions, lettuces and rhubarb so far. But I am really looking forward to the tomatoes and green beans! I think we are a couple of weeks behind this spring because it was cool for so long.
Thanks for sharing Jen. Keeps me excited about the bounty to come.

That sounds so delicious - wil be a while before my tomatoes are out. I think the first thing to come out will be cucumbers.
