Posted - Apr 25 2011 : 8:07:07 PM Hi Susan- Again I have to agree with Marjorie- I really think this is a very difficult to kill weed/vine. It looks exactly like what I have had and mentioned in my earlier post. My neighbor had explained this to me years ago, telling me that whenever I seee it I should pull it b/c it is very invasive and also poisonous. I never knew the name of it but am sure to pull it whenever I see it Hopefully the website that Marjorie gave will help too. Good Luck!

Posted - Apr 25 2011 : 2:21:53 PM This looks like a Carolina Cherry Laurel. They are very invasive and hard to eradicate. All parts of the plant are poisonous. I have a link to a website I use sometimes for plant identification and there are lots of pictures there to help you see it this is your mystery plant.

Good luck.

Posted - Apr 23 2011 : 9:52:30 PM Hi Laurie,
This is actually part of a tree from the neighbor's yard. At some point a sucker must have grown from the tree under the fence and formed a large bush in our yard. Since it has berries that drop into our yard, I wanted to identify it because I have a little curious doggie who likes to sample things.

Posted - Apr 23 2011 : 9:14:08 PM Susan- I am not positive but it looks like something I have had. It is a very invasive weed/vine that will grow into your shrubs etc and start to take over. I've had it and get rid of it when I see it. Make sure you get the roots when you pull it.
