Posted - Jun 25 2006 : 7:52:52 PM I just read that before you place a plant and soil into a pot, put a wet sponge over the whole to help retain moisture. Fill with soil and then place your plants in the pot. During the summer dry months, it will help retain moisture for the plants that truly need extra water. The tip didn't say how big of a sponge or what style though, so you may want to experiment with it. I'm going to try it with my fuschia that always seems to be drying out even watering 2 times a day!
