I am looking for some type of clipper that I saw advertised in some magazine and now I can't find which one!

They looked kind of like hedge clippers but they were on LONNNNG handles, almost as long as hoe handles, so you could clip grass from around trees, etc. while standing up.

Does anyone know what I'm talking about and where to buy these???

These would be great to trim around my grape vines and around my fruit trees....I can't crank the gas powered weedeater any more and you don't need to use those around trees any more.

I think I could really use this tool IF I could just find it. Does anybody know????

Thanks to all who sent messages!
I found exactly what I was looking for at Vermont Country Store for $49.95 and I've already ordered them and should have them by Friday!
Thank you all! I think the number of the item was 42345 and they were called "long handled grass clippers."

I just checked...go to qvc.com and enter in item #M11045. It is a pair of ratcheting pruners (large and small) for $29.68. If you can't find them by item #, go into Home Improvement, then Lawn and Garden and finally tools. They are about the eleventh item down the column.

I have a pair of these that have handles that extend about 4 feet. The clipper part has a ratcheting mechanism so I can actually cut through a good size branch by giving it a couple of firm chops. Then when I am done, the handles can be twisted down and I have a smaller pair to store. I got these on QVC during a garden show. I will go and try to get an item number so you can at least look on their website and see if this is what you are looking for. I do know that this is my FAVORITE garden tool.
