I've been looking online at simple root cellar plans. We will soon harvest potatoes and carrots that will need to be stored. Has anyone had sucess with small root cellars? What needs to be done for it to be sucessful?

Let me know. A lot of our books are still in boxes and I don't know which one has my Maryjane book in it!

Aren't there instructions in Maryjane's book for making a "root cellar" by digging a hole and lining it with a garbage can?

Nicole - I don't have any plans or anything, but I know some of the other ladies have been talking about making small root cellars using a box of sand for storage... Good luck! I think root cellars are wonderful, and I would love one, too...
