Posted - Mar 12 2010 : 7:26:24 PM Today was the first chance I've had to scrach around in my gardens- the snow has finally melted -some what. The hellebores just started to send up their flower stalks and after cutting back last years foliage I found hundreds of babies around the base of the mother plants- just germinating. Wow, what a nice suprise! Winter aconites are blooming and the crocuses are showing some color! Ahh-spring really is coming!! -Cindy

Posted - Mar 12 2010 : 7:56:16 PM I'm not sure if you could grow them- they need a cold period. But they are awsome- first thing to flower for me here in zone 5 and the blooms last for months!

Posted - Mar 12 2010 : 7:33:01 PM Spring and nature are so cool like that......giving precious new life gifts after such a cold time. I've never grown hellebores. I'm gonna have to google them and see if they grow down here.
