Hello Ladies, I am looking for some place to get seeds for what my Grandmother called 4 O'Clocks. It was a flower that opened at about 4 O'Clock in the afternoon. We use to collect the seeds every year to replant them. I have not been able to find them and Grandma is pasted but I want to plant the in my memory garden. Maybe I have the wrong name? Any help would be great!

Bboopster,

We have 4'oclocks, but sad to say won't be able to harvest seed until fall. Did get some last year, but didn't get enough and gave most away.

Did you know these attract the Sphynx Moth or hawk moth? In it's adult form, this is the tomato horn worm. Bad for our tomatoes, but really a neet-o animal in the flower garden. Also, their eyes are so big, you can actually see red eyeshine in the right kind of kitchen or flashlight light. Saw one a few years ago outside the kitchen window one evening while I was doing dishes, and it kind of gave me a start for a minute! Not quite used to seeing tiny eyes at this level in this location!

I am so excited! I just started some four o'clocks inside here day before yesterday, and I can't wait to plant them outside. They seem like such an old, good, cottagy plant and flower. I hope you find success in your seed search! Mine came from a neighbor, but I think I've even seen the seeds in WalMart...

XOXO, Libbie

Betty Jo..You can get 4 o'clock seeds just about anywhere that sells flower seeds..They are self seeding so that is nice. My grandma had them in a side bed at her house too..Very pretty!

BETTY JO
I went to google and typed in FOUR OCLOCKS, and it was the first one that came up, real pretty picture. Hope this is what you were looking for.
