On my blog I posted pictures of a peach tree growing out of a limb on an established ornamental tree. The mystery is how the seed got planted. A squirrel? Side Note: The peaches tasted wonderful.

Thanks for all the comments. I'm glad others appreciate nature the way I do.
What get's me is that I can't seem to prune the peach tree in my backyard garden correctly or keep the bugs off it in an organic way.
The exsisting tree hadn't been watered,(besides some rain or snow melt) fertilized or pruned for who knows how long. The peach part of it is straggly and didn't have alot of peaches, but it had no diseases or bug problems.

A squierrl might have hidden it there, or a bird dropped it in just the right spot. I have had tomatoe plants pop up in some of the weirdest places. Also did you all know that the "Bird of Paradise" plants seeds will not germinate unless they have gone thru the digestive tract of a bird? Either way, its a keeper, I hope it producves for alot of years for you.

That is so neat! I wonder if originally that tree was a peach tree graft and the grafted roots just took over everything except that one branch?

I wouldn't ask. Sometimes nature does its best work when humans are not involved. Enjoy those peaches.
