Posted - Sep 02 2009 : 07:11:10 AM Cool! I have one of those that I found at the thrift (an oldie!) and I will use it. The Zinnia's I have this year have been my favorite--LOTS of the dark orange that I love!

Posted - Sep 01 2009 : 8:58:49 PM That sounds like a good system, Teresa! What I do with zinnias is to pick them when they are fading and tie them in small bundles. Then I place them head side down in a paper sack and let them dry thoroughly. At that point the seeds come out and fall into the bag. Hope that helps! |

Posted - Sep 01 2009 : 7:36:21 PM My mom drys all kinds and what she uses is a box made from window screen , with a 1x1 wood frame, make the lid with hinges and a latch, that way the birds and rodents don't carry off your seed. That way they get air all around, set them on your porch, with good air circulation for most of the time, make sure you turn the flower heads so they dry equaly.
