I just gotta tell ya.... I did the whole companion planting thing this year and my garden is just beautiful! It's so lush and full, I could spend all day just wandering up and down the rows looking at my abundance of fresh foods. I have never ever had a garden like this. I'm just tickled pink. I will post blog pics later this evening.
So how many of you grew heirlooms this year? My garden is 85% heirlooms. Early this spring the Heirloom Mavens were swapping and trading like mad. The only non-heirloom plants I have in are ones that were given to me, and I ain't one to turn away free food... so I have tomatillos and some hybrid corn. But that was only to prove a point to the hubsters. I had heirloom corn and he didn't think it'd do well so he went and bought hybrid corn.. HAHA "oh ye of little faith"...my corn is kicking his corn's ear!
I just love how everything turns out the way it should be.... all's well here at Harvest Thyme Farm. And how does YOUR garden grow?

Dawn, I can't wait to see pictures. I love to see other people's gardens. I am amazed at all the pretty well kept weedless gardens all over. I was just weeding my beets awhile ago. And the zuc and squash. I have to put chicken wire over the zuc to keep the chickens from eating them.

I am afraid to admit I only have a few heirloom veggies. Actually, I think the Hickory King (or cane) is an old variety. Lots of old timers grew that and ask for it at the market. So I grow alot of that. Also the Detroit Red beets are an older beet. My 4 heirloom tomato plants are good. I also have 4 Homestead tomato plants. I need to see if they are heirloom.

My garden is taking off and doing great now. We are in desparate need of lots of rain. It's bad when your okra wilts.

I am so glad to hear your garden is doing do good for you. Are you selling alot? I guess you are really busy these days.

Kris
