Posted - Jul 23 2009 : 2:53:10 PM I have some young fruit trees that were recently stripped of all their leaves by some deer. Also unfortunately, several of the branches were broken by the deer in their feasting. By the time I found them the young branches had already dried out; it's hot here and unfortunately I am not home during the day.
I would like to know what I can do to "treat" the damage and hopefully help the trees survive. |

Posted - Jul 25 2009 : 2:08:46 PM Thanks-
The deer did not girdle the trees and I've already put up better protection around each tree.
I think they will be okay.

Posted - Jul 23 2009 : 3:33:53 PM If its just the leaves and a few small branches, trim the branches with sharp lopers behind the break. Water as much as you can, put in bubblers and compost on top of ground out to drip line. If they have girdled the trees, ( stripped the bark off), the chances on saving the trees is almost zero. Good luck and get some deer deterant out there immediatly.
