Wilma, I dry my herbs in the dehydrator. I cut them early in the morning, wash them in a sinkful of cold water, spin them in the salad spinner then lay them on the dehydrator trays. My dehydrator is kinda large and can do a lot at one time. By afternoon, they will be dried and will keep their color and flavor. I put them in zip lock bags and store them in a rubbermaid tub. The only thing that I don't care for dried is basil. I make pesto using basil and parsley. I freez it in ice cube trays then put them in a baggie and keep them in the freezer and use them one at a time as needed.

I love herbs and love your new herb garden.

I like using rosemary in with my mashed potatoes/so yummy..just take a few springs and add over into your mashed potatoes with a little butter and milk..ooh yummy. you can also toss a little rosemary and olive oil in with your fried taters.
thyme is yummy too sprinkled over steamed green beans.

I freeze mine in a little bit of water in ice cube trays--cut up with scissors and put in the trays, add a little bit of water, freeze, then pop the cubes out of the tray and into a ziplock bag or something--Very easy and ready to use for the rest of the year!

Love, love, love it! Your's are bigger than mine! Put some chopped dill or thyme in your fried taters. You should see all of the hostas you gave me, they are huge!

hi Miss Wilma,
yes you can dry your herbs. Simply cut off a few of the branches to harvest and hang them upside down to dry. then remove the leaves once dry and place into jars or ziplock bags. Best time to collect is early in the morning as the leaves will be at their best flavor in the early morning.
If collecting rosemary, collect the young tips and then simply snip the leaves off and allow it to dry.
When you want to use the dry herbs simply grind with a mortar and pestle.
Best of wishes.
