Someone told my husband to put Epson Salt on the tomato plants. He was wondering what way? Do you mix it with water and pour it on the ground around the plants? Or do you just put the salt directly on the ground near the plants with diluting it?

I put epsom salts in the base of the hole b4 I put in my mater plants. After the salts go in the hole toss a bit of dirt over so the tomato plant roots aren't right in it then go ahead and cover the roots with your dirt/compost. I did this for the first time last growing season after my Mom told me about using epsom salts on her tomato plants. I was amazed. I had very nice sized tomatoes and bountiful produce. I was sold and will do this every year.

Thanks Teresa...I will pass thison to my hubby...Since I have been laid up for the last 7 weeks and dont know when I will be able to work in the garden like I am supposed to he has been so good and taking care of what I started in the garden

Mix it with compost and put around, but not on top of the tomato plants, also they love used coffee grounds. Another good tip, is bury a whole un-cracked egg near the tomatos, as it rots the sulfar release will do wonders, as well as the calcium from the shell
