I was wondering if someone could tell me when to harvest Gooseberries. We have access to a couple of bushes and can pick what we want, I just don't know when to pick them, what to look for. Right now they are about the size of a large blueberry, pretty firm, green with a little blush on them. Thanks for your help!

Thanks Sheila! I'm not sure what variety they are and I did try them, they were tart. I think I will keep checking them :)

Different types have different colors when you pick them. The best way I know of is to eat one and see if it is nice and soft and sweet or still hard and tart. You'll know when they're ready! Yumm! We had these growing up, and I wish I had a bush or two now--my kiddos would love them!
