Check out my blog. I made a big salad tonight with our tomatoes and peppers and cucumbers, and then felt the need to put together a photo of the tomato bounty in the kitchen right now. I have stewed several quarts and pints so far, and have many still ripening in gthe kitchen. Plus we have more on the vine! I have given bags to four friends and family. And this is from very small gardens in my yard in two places. God is good.

I'm having tomato envy, too, Shirley Jean. I have some blossoms and a couple of tiny green wannabe tomatoes so far. But nothing as grand as your bounty!

I just had a cherry tomato, lettuce, cheese, purple onion, egg salad. Yummy. Our cherry tomatoes are abundant. We give and give and eat and eat.

I went home for lunch and checked the tomatoes - they still all look healthy. I may have answered my own question. I found a Brandywine tomato on one my my plants - already bigger than my fist! I hope it ripens soon. Nothing tastes better than home grown tomatoes.

I had to cut off 3 tomatoes from my Green Zebra plant this weekend - blossom end rot. The other plants (and this one) have plenty that are good and healthy. Should I worry?

Amy, depending on the weather, our tomato season can go into early August. Then the heat really does kill the plants off. And the pests begin to multiply. This year has been great so far because we had lots of cool nights, and not too many days above 90 so far. The farmers around here always talk about how the ripe tomato crops move north as the weeks go by. First Florida in May and June and some July, then Georgia July and August, and then into North Carolina in September. I have been in North Carolina in late September and the tomatoes are to die for. So you have a lot to look forward to! I bet your tomatoes are wonderful, since you have so much nice cool weather.

Wow Jeannie - I am jealous!! We are two months out from tomatoes at my house. How long does your tomato season last? Maybe I need to consider moving to Florida, so I can eat more fresh tomatoes:)

Hello, Abigail from Florida too! Our hydrangeas have been really big and deeply colored this year. I think it is because we have not been hit with really hot weather yet.
