I was curious, so I made some out of feed sacks, used baling twine for support/handles, and planted a tomato in a cut at the bottom. Hanging out and waiting now. I figured a few experimental sacks wouldn't hurt. Then I thought they'd be great for strawberries too.

Posted - May 28 2009 : 09:05:07 AM Ah, good to know. Ran out of ground space and thought I'd go up. I'll watch for the wind, I hadn't thought of that. The sacks are fairly heavy with all that moist dirt. I have a few more plants left, so maybe I'll just put them in containers or add an annex to the fenced-in garden.

I have to say that you can't improve on Mother Nature...so they just don't look "natural" to me. Just my little 2 cents worth... :-)
