The spot I want to plant in should get full sun for most of the day, but starting around 2 or 3 it will start getting filtered sun and by 5 or 6 it will be shaded. Do you think they would do okay there? They would be getting between 6-9 hours of sun a day.

Posted - May 18 2009 : 09:41:54 AM Oh yes Lillian- it should be hot. There is a dark red fence on one side and a dark brown fence on the other plus we get 100 + temps all summer long. Great! I think I will plant them before my trip then!

Posted - May 18 2009 : 09:34:14 AM Alee- 2 years ago I planted my watermelons in the greenhouse. It was the only time I ever got to harvest some melons. In the summertime my greenhouse has a shade cloth over the whole thing so it is filtered sunshine all day. I feel the only reason I got any watermelons is because it was so hot in there. So I think as long as it is still hot you should be ok.
