I really messed up yesterday. I have had my seedlings in our cold frame until it was warm enough to plant them. I go out and water them every day and prop the box open and they have been thriving. Yesterday, hubby was off work, unexpectedly (another layoff), and we decided it was the day to implement my new once a month grocery shopping plan. When he's home on a week day, it throws my whole routine off, so I gathered my grocery list, coupons, etc. and we took off for Olympia. Wouldn't you know, it turned out to be the warmest day so far this year in our area, and I forgot to prop open the box before I left! I took him to dd's boyfriens house to spend the night as they are going shrimping today, and I realized what I had done, about half way through the day. When I got home (about 9 pm) I went out and peeked in the box - everything ruined. All the poor little plants, laying over limp, completely dead. So it's start over time I guess - hope I have enough time to get my tomatoes to transplant time before it's too late. Moral of this story - this farmgirl shoulda stayed on the farm!

That is so disappointing. I hope the next batch will thrive.

That is the worst feeling. I am so sorry. I did that once but caught it in time and watered them really good. They all perked up. Better luck next time.

Oh, no! All that time and tender care. :( You should still have time for new ones.

It's kind of funny how sad I felt for the little plants - like they were my babies. I even apologized to them as I was pulling them out of their pots!
