Posted - May 02 2009 : 08:37:27 AM We are taking our front yard and changing it to an edible yard. It will take about a year to get it where we want it but the grass will be replaced with beds of herbs, edible flowers and fruit. We planing a couple of small fruit trees too. Stones for walk ways a couple of water features too.
Yards are great place to grow your own food. Plus you don't have to mow!!

Posted - May 02 2009 : 2:45:45 PM Tamara- We are doing the same thing! My brother is ocming next week and is going to take down the tree in our front yard. I hate to see it go, but it is tipping and I don't want it falling on my neighbor's truck! In its place will be planted two peach trees, two apple trees, five blueberry bushes and some more raised beds. :) If it doesn't produce food, I'm afraid it can't go in my yard. So much for the dog. ;)

Posted - May 02 2009 : 12:35:51 PM that's pretty cool. i've heard of a lot people starting to do this now. it really makes you look at houses with these un used lawns and feel kinda sad about all the wasted space.
