My rhubarb stalks are too skinny! I have wonderful, healthy leaves and lots of stalks, but they are not bulking up to normal size. Anyone have a cure for this?

I'm not sure how old the plants are - we bought this house a couple of years ago and they were already here. We feed them horse manure. Thanks for your help!

I'm not an expert, but 2 questions that come to mind are: 1) How old are your plants and 2) what have you fed them? Last year, my Grandma forgot to have me put steer manure around her plants until late in the year and the stalks were real skinny. This year, I made sure I gave them their manure dressing early and the stalks are getting nice and big. So that might be part of the problem. I'll ask her if she has any other ideas and let you know!

You can take the farmer's daughter off the farm but you can't take the farm out of the farmer's daughter!!
